Sheridan Township
Maps

An excellent interactive Map is available on the official Dunn County web site.

This map includes all of Sheridan Township (and a little of Barren county that borders us).

The map site displays 2004 aerial color photography, 2004 black and white photography and 1992 black and white photography. The 2004 black and white photos are so sharp I can see the chimney on the roof-top of our house. To view the site your browser must have java-script enabled.

The maps are at Dunn County GIS Map
New users should start at Dunn County Official Web Portal and click on "GIS Maps"
Before using the map system read their instructions! The site has a link called "Dunn County GIS Map Usage Instructions.pdf" near the bottom of the page.
Quick notes - tools are selected on the left, display options on the right and [Refresh Map] beneath all the display options. Be patient. Even with a DSL line the site seems slow.
With the interactive map you can drill down to see an aerial view of any place in Sheridan, even see the parcel lines and section corners with excellent accuracy.

Another good site for aerial views of Sheridan Township is Terraserver.
This link starts terraserver with the Sheridan Town Hall near the center of the map aerial View of Town Hall. This site is easier to use, but the photos are 1992 black and white. From the town hall you can zoom out and move N-S-E-W to find another location.

Note: Assume the site will work with your current browser settings.
If the interactive site does not work you probably need to first enable java-script.
If you are using Microsoft's Internet Explorer the settings that allow or deny java script are found under the pull-down menus. Go to tools -> internet options.. From the next screen select the tab Security. Then if Internet is not selected (in blue) click on it. Then click on the button [Custom Level...] In the next screen (Security Settings) near the bottom use the arrow to change the setting from High to Medium then click on [Reset].
If you are using Mozilla Firefox the setting is under Tools->options then Web Settings then click on [ ] enable javascript.
