A special public hearing was called to order at 7:00 pm by Chairman Bartlett. All board members and the clerk were present. Fifteen other people were present at the meeting.

Chm. Bartlett explained that the purpose of the hearing was to consider Arden Eggleston’s petition for the town board to lay out a roadway providing him access to 40 acres of landlocked property he owns in Section 11. Anyone wishing to speak on the issue would be given 5 minutes to speak.

Attorney Nick Viveaci explained that the Egglestons have tried to negotiate access to the property with adjoining land owners but have had no success. Therefore they have presented the petition to the town board.

Pete Boening stated he has had adjoining land for sale previously and it had been offered to the Eggelstons. They have rejected these offers and the land was sold to others. Pete then made a final offer to sell 5 acres of land at $5000 per acre, with the Eggelstons to pay all surveying costs and installing a new line fence.

Other individuals spoke in opposition to the petition. They stated that adjoining land had been for sale and the Eggelstons did not buy it, therefore the petition should be denied.

Chm. Bartlett explained the board’s options and how the board will proceed to resolve this issue. The petition will be discussed and acted on at the town board meeting on December 13, 2005.

With no one else wishing to speak, Chm. Bartlett adjourned the meeting.
