Minutes of Board Meeting



April 14, 2009


The regular monthly meeting of the Sheridan Town Board was called to order at 7:30 PM following the annual town meeting. All board members, the clerk, and the treasurer were present. A total of 9 people were present at the meeting.

Minutes of the March 10, 2009 meeting were read. M/S to approve the minutes as read. Motion passed.

The financial report was presented. M/S to accept the report as presented. Motion passed.

Vouchers were presented for inspection. The vouchers were approved as presented.

OLD BUSINESS:

The board will meet at the town hall on Saturday, May 2, 2009 to do the annual road inspection. Don McWithey will contact Wirth Bros and Ray Glaser to see if they are available to meet with the board at this time also.

Paul Holland presented a revised fee schedule, which was discussed and tabled for action until the next board meeting. The position of the driveway inspector was discussed. Motion by Supv. Score, second by Chm. Bartlett to appoint Paul Holland as the driveway and private road inspector with compensation to be the fees paid according to the fee schedule when it is adopted. Motion passed.

NEW BUSINESS:

Bill Haub has fixed the old furnace and suggested that we purchase a new furnace. The board will consider a new furnace later this summer.

Paul Holland presented a proposal to create a position of Sheridan Plan Coordinator to be the contact person regarding permits, regulatory guidelines, and general information regarding town functions and land use plans. The board will review this and discuss it at a later date.

A survey regarding election facilities was discussed. A van accessible and handicapped entrance signs will need to be posted, and the handicapped parking area will need to be widened. This will be done this summer.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the clerk's home.

The Board of Review will meet at 7:00 PM on May 12, 2009 and adjourn until a later date.
