Minutes of Board Meeting



April 12, 2011


The regular monthly meeting of the Sheridan Town Board was called to order following the annual town meeting . All board members, the treasurer, Clerk David Plunkett, and Deputy Clerk Geral Miller were present. Also present were Don McWithey and Jim Hoover.

Minutes of the March 8, 2011 meeting were read.  M/S to approve the minutes as corrected. Motion passed.  

The  financial report was presented. M/S to accept the report as presented. Motion passed.  

Vouchers were presented for inspection and were approved as presented.

During public comment, Jim Hoover reported that the county is working on a rewrite of the county zoning regulations.  A copy of the county zoning plans is available on the county website.

OLD Business:

Supv. Allram gave a brief history of the town hall and an update on plans for an addition to be completed in 2011.  Plans have been finalized and sent to the state for approval.  Estimated cost would be about $75,000, however the town board is waiting for the state to act on the Prevailing Wage Law before proceeding with any bids. 

 
NEW BUSINESS:

The town board will meet at the town hall on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 3:30 PM to do the annual road tour and inspection.

David Plunkett was elected Town Clerk at the April 5, 2011 election.  He has plans to go to Europe and he has appointed Gerald Miller as the Deputy Clerk until his return.

Assessor Marilynn Bartos was re-elected on April 5, 2011, however due to health issues she was not able to complete her re-certification and therefore will not be taking office again on June 1, 2011 when her current term expires. Marilynn should be able to complete the board of review this year and then the board will have to appoint a new assessor.

The board approved hiring Mike Sampson to mow the Vanceburg cemetery for $225/mowing and town hall for $35/mowing.  Kim Bergman will mow the Oak Grove cemetery for $85/mowing.

The Board of Review will meet on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the town hall and adjourn until a later date.

The next regular monthly board meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the town hall.
